We hear a lot about what we can do to keep our bodies healthy, but we need to hear more about how we can keep our minds healthy too.

The Act-Belong-Commit campaign encourages everyone to do things to keep mentally healthy. It focuses on building good mental health and preventing mental illness and it is aimed at everybody.

Keeping mentally healthy is as important as staying physically healthy, and it’s as easy as A-B-C. Keeping active, having a sense of belonging and having a purpose in life are all good for our mental health and wellbeing. We not only feel happier, but we can cope better with problems and stress.

Act-Belong-Commit
Just try it.

Act Belong Commit in action Belong Act and belong in action

Act – keep mentally, physically, socially and spiritually active: walk, swim, read, do a crossword puzzle...
Belong – join a group, chat to a neighbour, take a cooking class, go along to community events...
Commit – take a challenge, get involved, volunteer, learn something new...

There are lots of ways to Act-Belong-Commit.  Professionals and members of the community can give it a go by finding an activity in your community. Get started with local council community directories.

A wide range of resources are available on the Act Belong Commit website to help you keep mentally healthy. Check them out!
