We're excited to share that the Department of Health has confirmed that the current arrangements for the PCP program will continue until March 2022!

Over the coming months the department will work together with PCPs to transition to a new governance model as part of a wider system reform which takes into consideration Public Health Units, Clusters and Community Health.

They have acknowledged the compelling work of PCPs over many years and expressed a strong desire to ensure the high value functions of PCPs are maintained and strengthened as part of a more coordinated and integrated approach to prevention and health promotion in our communities.

It is very pleasing to receive acknowledgement of the work and value of PCPs as well as a clearer path towards reform and we hope this will strengthen our member’s commitment to partnership work into the future. We look forward to providing further updates as transition planning progresses.
